The Culture Departement and the Bishopric of Santander have signed an agreement of collaboration between both institutions, to promote the routes of the Religious Artistic Heritage of Cantabria, including the schedule of guided visits to churches, hermitages or chapels of the region. In the region of Liébana, the following religious monuments can be visited:
The visits can be made in the following way:
Morning: 9,00
to 13,00 hours. Afternoon: 15,30 to 20,00 hours. Neoclassical church of Salarzón (Cillorigo de Liébana) The visit can be made every day from 10.00 hours to 13.30 hours, and from 16.00 hours to 19.30 hours, except Mondays, calling to telephone 600 238 315; the didactic centre of the church of Ojedo (Cillorigo de Liébana) can also be visited with the same openning hours. The guide is Marcos Cantero Mediavilla.
The guided visit can be made from 10.00 hours to 13.30 hours, and from 16 hours to 19.30 hours, except Mondays. The contact telephone is 942 744 332 and the guide is María Luisa García Vejo. Important: The guided visit to the church of Lebeña costs 300 pesetas, and with this ticket the church of Santa María de Piasca can also be visited, or the other way round.

The guide is Isabel Torre Sánchez. As it has been said previously, the visit costs 300 pesetas, and with this ticket the church of Santa María de Lebeña can also be visited. Cave hermitage of Cambarco It is located in the town of Cambarco (Cabezón de Liébana). A guide is not necessary, because it can be contemplated from the outside, through a gate. The entry to the churches of Santo Toribio de Liébana, Ojedo, and Salarzón, is free, and the entries to Santa María de Lebeña and Santa María de Piasca are charged in order to set this money aside for the surveillance and care of these churches. |
