Liébana y Picos de EuropaINTERACTIVE MAPSLiebanaPicos de Europa

Liébana is the most western region in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria, located on the north of Spain, on the shores of the Cantabrian sea.

To get to Liébana from the north it is necessary to catch the secondary road N-621, which starts at Unquera and runs for 22 km parallel to the river Deva, offering, from the very beginning, an attractive landscape which progressively announces the greatness of Picos de Europa; its final destiny.

From the village of La Hermida the road runs along a narrow road (called the Hermida gorge), with almost vertical limestone walls which sometimes reach 600 m in altitude.

You can also get to Liébana from the Castellan meseta, through those roads coming from the provinces of Palencia (C-627) and León (N-621).
