in a privileged setting, the HOTEL-RESTAURANT
"EL REBECO", at the foot of the cable-car in Fuente
Dé, from where innumerable excursions can be made into the National
Park of "Picos de Europa", gives the visitor the singular
attractiveness of fully enjoying nature and at the same time taking
pleasure in all the commodities of a first class accommodation. We have
30 double rooms available, comfortably furnished; 11 of a functional
second class, duplex type, ideal for families with children. From the
rooms (many of them with a terrace), the mountainous amphitheatre of
Fuente Dé and the cable car can be contemplated.
The exquisite gastronomy from the region deserves a special mention, being able to taste some typical dishes like "cocido lebaniego", one of the restaurant great specialities; regional trouts and meats, very good quality cold meats; tasty cheeses with origin designation and a variety of home made desserts. Within the drinks it is necessary to mention the "tostadillo" (a sweet wine) and the famous Orujo de Liébana. |

In the hotel it is possible to contemplate a magnificent collection, unique in the world, of cross-stitch pictures, made by the owner of the hotel, Conchi Cuesta. The hotel owns a 4-wheel-drive car to carry out excursions to the interior of the National Park of the Picos de Europa mountains. You´ll be able to visit the yew, beech, and oak forests, where the scarce specimens like the brown bear and the cappercaille still live freely and where you can admire the majestic flight of the golden eagle. An 850 metres ascension in the cable car of Fuente Dé, places us in a few minutes in the balcony called "El Cable", where it is possible to watch the "shamua" (wild goat), who are the most representative animals in the National Park, Picos de Europa.

The offered routes in a 4-wheel-drive around the Park are the next: SOTRES.- Access through Espinama and the gates of Aliva, with a visit to the village of Sotres. Duration: half a day´s journey. MIRADOR DEL CABLE.- Access through the village of Espinama, crossing the gates of Aliva, the refuge of Aliva, Royal chalet, and the vantage point at the top of the cable-car. Duration: half a day´s journey. TRESVISO.- Access through Espinama, gates of Aliva, and Sotres; visit to the village of Tresviso and way back through Fuente Dé. Duration: half a day´s journey. THE CARES ROUTE.- Departure from Fuente Dé, passing through the pass of Pandetrave, the valley of Valdeón, vantage point El Tombo, Caín, and way back through Puente Poncebos, Sotres, the pastures of Aliva, Espinama, and Fuente Dé. Duration: complete day´s journey. PUERTOS DE PINEDA ROUTE.- Departure from Fuente Dé, passing through Cosgaya, the vantage point of Llesba, San Glorio pass, Ledantes; with a visit to the old "pisa" (where they used to beat the wool from the sheep in the old days), Barrio, pastures of Riofrío and Pineda, the Curavacas lake, and return through Dobres, Vega de Liébana, Potes, and Fuente Dé. Duration: complete day´s journey (including picnic).
